Types of blood test

At GP Care Now, we offer a range of blood tests for various conditions.

Well Man profile (HER1)

This bespoke test designed specifically for GP Care Now will give all men a thorough insight into their health and any future medical problems.

The test includes FBC, kidney and liver function, blood glucose, cholesterol and bone profile, vitamin D, B12 and folate and ferritin, prostate, diabetes screen, thyroid function and CRP.

Well Woman Profile (HER2)

This test is recommended for all women and includes FBC, kidney and liver function, blood glucose, cholesterol and bone profile, vitamin D, B12 and folate and ferritin, diabetes screen, thyroid function and CRP.

Menopause/ Female Hormone Profile (HER3)

This test is recommended for any women worried about the perimenopause or menopause. It includes FSH,LH, oestradiol, testosterone, prolactin and SHBG

Erectile Dysfunction / Impotence Profile (IMPO)

This test is ideal for men who are worried about decreased sexual functioning and impotence and includes Lipid Profile, Glucose, HbA1C, TSH, Prolactin, Total Testosterone, Free Testosterone, SHBG, and PSA.

Anaemia and Iron status profile (HER4)

This test is recommended to diagnose anaemia which can be a major cause of feeling tired and fatigued. The test includes FBC, iron levels, B12 and folate.

Thyroid Profile

This test is recommended for anyone who is worried about a thyroid problem or just needs monitoring for an already diagnosed thyroid issue and includes T4,Free T3 and T4, TSH, and Thyroid antibodies.

Disease-specific Tests

Disease-specific blood tests are laboratory tests that are used to diagnose or monitor specific diseases by measuring certain biomarkers in the blood.

Ovarian Cancer Screening Blood Test

CA 125 is a hormone released by some ovarian cancers. If you have symptoms which suggest an ovarian pathology this test helps the doctor determine whether further investigations are needed.

Gluten Sensitivity Test (GSA) (Coeliacs Disease Antibody)

This test will help to diagnose Coeliacs disease and gluten sensitivity and includes endomysial IgA, Gliadan IgG, Total IgA, Tissue Transglutaminase (IgA).

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Profile

This test is used to help diagnose PCOS and includes Testosterone, TSH, Glucose, HbA1C, FSH, DHEAs, Insulin, LH, 17 Hydroxyprogesterone ,Lipid Profile, Prolactin, Cortisol, Antimullerian Hormone, Androstenedione, SHBG.

Pregnancy and preconception

Pregnancy and preconception tests are medical tests used to determine pregnancy and assess a woman's fertility status before conception

Pregnancy Blood Test (QHCG) – Pregnancy Urine Test (PREG)

Pregnancy blood test and pregnancy urine test are both diagnostic tools used to detect the presence of the human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) hormone in a woman's body, which is produced during pregnancy.

These tests are highly accurate and can detect hCG as early as 10 days after conception.

Antenatal Profile

This test includes FBC + 5 part Diff, Blood Group and Rh Type, Atypical Antibody Screen, Haemoglobin Electrophoresis, Glucose, FT4/TSH, Rubella Antibodies (IgG), Toxoplasma (IgG/IgM), Hepatitis B sAg, Hep C Abs, Syphilis IgG/IgM, Varicella Zoster IgG (Immunity), HIV 1 & 2 Abs

Antimullarian Hormone

This is recommended for any woman who is concerned about her future fertility. Anti–Müllerian Hormone (AMH) is a marker of Ovarian Reserve and is a hormone released by the small follicle in the ovary. It gives us an idea about the number of remaining follicles and therefore eggs in the ovary.
